In this article we will talk about Rogue Rocketeer Review, This Guitar is one of the popular beginner brands for young people with a desire to learn to play the Guitar. Rogue has been manufacturing music instruments for at least a decade and specializes in low-cost guitars, basses, ukuleles, banjos, effect pedals, amps, mandolins, and other instruments.

The Rogue Rocketeer appears to be a decent value for the money Guitar. The Guitar has everything a newbie needs: versatility, tone control, and an easy-to-play neck. The sound is a little thin, as one would expect from a cheap pickup, but it has a wonderfully dynamic response, thanks to the humbucker’s coil-splitting abilities. The humbucker at the bridge position is hotter than the two single-coil pickups, adding power to the mid and low ranges where the single coils are weak.

You must be wondering what company produces this Rogue Rocketeer guitar. Well, Musiciansfriend, which is an online musical instrument vendor, is the producer of the brand, Rogue Guitars. Musiciansfriend was acquired by Guitar Center in 1999, and Rogue is associated with both Musiciansfriend and Guitar Center’s brands.

Rogue Rocketeer Review: Electric Guitar Design and Features

With a broad tail end and narrow curvature going up to the short, rounded horns, the Rocketeer body appears like a cross between a Stratocaster and a Rickenbacker. The body is composed of basswood, which is an excellent tonewood with good midrange response and durability, but it’s a little lightweight and mushy, assuming may make it readily dented. The guitar’s upper rear and front right feature slanted cuts, making it a very pleasant instrument to play. The Rocketeer is available in two sunburst finishes: vintage and grey, with the vintage seeming a little more polished and professional.

The Rocketeer hardware is attractive and of reasonable quality. The white tortoiseshell pickguard gives the guitar a vintage appearance and makes it appear more expensive than it is. The volume and tone knobs are reminiscent of white Fender top hat knobs, and the pots they regulate are silky smooth. The 5-way pickup selection switch feels sturdy enough as long as you don’t bang it around, and the 14” jack is dependable, though it does loosen up now and then. The tuners could be better, and they do detune a little, but they’re not bad for a beginner.

The maple neck is bolted to the body, and the rosewood fingerboard has dot inlays. Because the neck is a bolt-on, it may take away some of the guitar’s potential warmth and instead lend itself to a twangy response. However, the maple/rosewood mix gives warmth to the overall tone of the instrument and increases the bass end, keeping the tone more balanced than it could otherwise be. The neck has 22 frets, with the higher ones being easily accessible due to the large cutaway. The neck curvature is ultra-thin, which means it moves quickly and allows for speedy soloing and smooth playing.

With an open-faced bridge position humbucker, the Rogue Rocketeer features an H-S-S setup with no-name pickups. The humbucker includes coil-splitting capacity, which is enabled by the push/pull tone knob, which is a bit surprising given that it’s a budget instrument (similar to the Yamaha PAC112V). The single coils are buzzy and bright, but the humbucker is excellent and surprisingly hot. The buzz can also be reduced by using just the humbucker or a humbucker-middle single coil combination.
